Éric Favreau and Owen Marshall
In Éric and Owen, we find two repertoires combining into a fluid and melodic conversation. With masterful tone, rhythm, and vast trove of unique tunes both old and new, fiddler Éric Favreau has established himself as one of world’s foremost interpreters of Québécois music. In Éric’s partnership with guitarist Owen Marshall, the musical exchange is singular, nuanced, and dynamic. The joy these musicians take in their collaboration leads to an unforgettable performance, and a couple of laughs along the way.
More about Éric and Owen
Éric Favreau (violin) comes from a family of traditional Québécois musicians and has spent many years playing with other fiddlers, learning their repertoire and studying their varied styles. Through the years, Éric has accumulated a rich and fascinating repertoire by exploring various archives and collecting field recordings. Over the years, he has garnered a profound understanding and vast knowledge of Québécois traditional music.
Guitarist and Vermont native, Owen Marshall’s musical roots were firmly established by the local music scene: contra dances, small concerts, and a thriving Irish music community. Owen has accompanied and collaborated with many of traditional music’s top performers and has toured around the globe. In addition to being a respected performer, Owen is in demand at music camps throughout New England and the U.S., where he shares his approach to accompanying traditional music.
