"Now more than ever, it's important for us to stay connected and support the artists who bring us so much joy. Since it'll be awhile until we can gather again, let's share the gift of music together and look forward to better days ahead." - Jim Olsen, Signature Sounds president and Green River Festival director
Signature Sounds Presents has announced an online concert series in response to the COVID-19 crisis. The Parlor Room Home Sessions start Friday, March 20th with acclaimed chamber-pop band Winterpills. Veteran bluesman Chris Smither performs on Sunday, March 22, and "living, breathing, throat-singing, road-tested, avant-garde" songwriter, The Suitcase Junket will play on Friday, March 27th.
All performances start at 8 PM, EST and are accessed via www.signaturesounds.com/homesessions. More bands will be announced shortly and will include Parlor Room and Green River Festival favorites along with more artists on the Signature Sounds roster.
In two decades on the road Jeffrey Foucault has become one of the most distinctive voices in American music, refining a sound instantly recognizable for its simplicity and emotional power. He’s built a brick-and-mortar international touring career of multiple studio albums, countless miles, and general critical acclaim, being lauded for “Stark, literate songs that are as wide open as the landscape of his native Midwest” (The New Yorker), and described as “Quietly brilliant” (Irish Times). BLOOD BROTHERS (Blueblade Records, 2018) is Jeffrey Foucault’s sixth collection of original songs.
THE NEW YORK TIMES: “Sometimes his songs run right up to the edge of the grandiose, and hold still, and that’s when he’s best… Close to perfection.”
MOJO: ”Songwriting brilliance.”
UNCUT MAGAZINE (UK): “The music of Wisconsin native Foucault is the kind so many aspire to but never attain: beat-up troubadour folk whittled to dolorous perfection...”
