Jim Rooney, an Amherst College alum, is a Grammy Award-winning producer, musician and author. Songwriters with whom he has collaborated include John Prine, Nanci Griffith, Iris Dement and many others. He is the author of Bossmen: Bill Monroe & Muddy Waters and co-author with Eric Von Schmidt of Baby Let Me Follow You Down: The Illustrated Story of the Cambridge Folk Years. Jim Rooney’s memoir is entitled In It For The Long Run, a beautiful reminiscence of his over sixty years in the music business.

Pat Alger is a singer, guitarist and songwriter who is a member of the Nashville Songwriter’s Hall of Fame and the Georgia Music Hall of Fame. By any measure, Pat Alger is one of the most successful songwriters of the past 40 years in American popular music. He is also a private collector of American poetry, with a special interest in the work of Robert Frost.

For more than three decades, Chris Brashear has been a highly sought-after performer and versatile sideman, singing and playing fiddle, mandolin, guitar, banjo and bass. He has performed for over twenty years with long-time collaborator and champion guitarist Peter McLaughlin. Chris’s most recent album, Heart Of The Country, was produced by Grammy Award winning producer Jim Rooney. Chris lives in Amherst, MA.
