Kat Wright
Kat Wright
Kat Wright, whose voice is both sultry and dynamic, delicate yet powerful; gritty but highly emotive and nuanced, has been described as “a young Bonnie Raitt meets Amy Winehouse”. Add to that voice enough stage presence to tame lions, and the combination of feline femininity proves immediately enchanting. There’s soul flowing in and out of her rock ‘n’ roll with a serpentine seduction. Some of soul music’s sweet, grand dames belt, shout, seethe, and succumb, while Wright sings gently like a heartache’s apology. It’s funky in spots and beautiful all over. And it hurts a little … like it should.
The Greys
The Greys
The Greys are a poetry driven indie rock band with jazz roots from Western, MA. Originally a voice and bass duo created by college friends Cait Simpson and Chris Merritt, the now-quartet writes songs of resilience and strength, as well as about experiences with mental illness. In the past year, drummer Josh Daniel (Hot Dirt, The Leafies You Gave Me) and pianist Mara Penatzer (Mixed Race Mixed Tape) have joined the band and have helped allow growth to new heights. The Greys will release their first full length album in early 2019 following their 2017 release of their EP “The Landing”.
