Schoolhouse Rock Live
Schoolhouse Rock Live
Schoolhouse Rock Live!, conceived and produced by Dave Hayes (a/k/a Dave Hayes The Weather Nut, who has worked with Ray Mason Band, Colorway, Heather Maloney, Lord Russ, Superkart, and others), will be performed by a who’s-who roster of valley veteran ringers, including a core band of Ken Maiuri (The B52s, The Mammals, Spouse, The Fawns, Heather Maloney), F. Alex Johnson (Colorway, Drunk Stuntmen), J.J. O’Connell (Spouse, Colorway, Drunk Stuntmen, Heather Maloney), Frank Padellaro (King Radio), Brandi Ediss (King Radio), and Dave Trenholm (King Radio, Free Range Cats, Soul Magnets). The band will also be joined by Kay McKinstry (Jerks On The Loose), Christine Geisler Andrews (Jerks On The Loose), Kat Rapacki (Mary Jane Jones, BraveSoul, Llama Lasagne), and Nick Borges (Mary Jane Jones, BraveSoul, Llama Lasagne).

The idea to produce this concert was partially born out of an intense love of Saturday morning cartoons as a kid growing up in the 1970s. If you grew up in the 70s, the songs of Schoolhouse Rock became part of the very fabric of your being, like it did for Hayes and many in the band. Conjunction Junction, Verb: That’s What’s Happening, Lolly’s Adverbs, I’m Just A Bill, and so many others are joyfully hard-wired into our nervous systems.

The other reason to produce this show was because Bob Dorough, the original composer of these beloved songs, died on April 23rd of this year at the ripe old age of 94. Hayes realized it was only right to celebrate this brilliant musician that positively impacted so many children’s lives, including his own. Come out and celebrate Bob, as well as a select number of his amazing 3-minute TV gems.

3 truly is a magic number!
